The breathalyzer.io service is operated by the administrator of the breathalyzer.io service, referred to in these terms as "we", "us" or "our". You can reach us at support@breathalyzer.io.

Breathalyzer is an independent information website about breath alcohol testers. We publish guides, comparisons and model overviews based on the manufacturer's published specifications and public documentation, a BAC calculator, a breathalyzer finder quiz and an optional email signup for a buyer's checklist and calibration reminders.

We do not sell products, take orders or process payments. Products are sold by Amazon and other third party sellers under their own terms.

Everything on this site is general information for adults. It is not medical advice, legal advice or professional advice of any kind, and it does not create a professional relationship between you and us.

Do not use the site in place of advice from a qualified professional. For questions about your health, alcohol use or medication, speak to a doctor. For questions about a DUI charge, a court order, an ignition interlock requirement, workplace testing obligations or any other legal matter, speak to a qualified attorney or the relevant official body, such as your state DMV, NHTSA, FMCSA or the Department of Transportation rules in 49 CFR Part 40.

Laws and official rules change and differ between states. Our pages about legal limits and testing rules summarize them in general terms and may not reflect the latest changes or your specific situation.

The BAC calculator, the time to zero estimate, the BAC chart and every BAC figure on this site are estimates based on general formulas and average values. Your real blood alcohol concentration depends on many factors that no formula captures, including food, health, medication, body composition and how fast you drank.

This is an estimate. It cannot tell you whether you are safe or legal to drive. If you have been drinking, do not drive.

The same applies to any personal breathalyzer. A reading from a consumer device is a screening result, not evidence, and it depends on calibration, the sensor type, how long you waited before blowing and how you used the device. Never use a calculator result or a personal device reading to decide that you can drive, operate machinery or do anything else that needs you to be sober.

You use the tools and any device you buy at your own risk and remain fully responsible for your decisions.

We take care to report specifications accurately and to cite the maker's documentation, but makers change products, firmware, packaging and documentation without notice. We do not guarantee that every detail on the site is complete, current or free of errors. Always check the maker's current documentation and the product listing before you buy.

We do not make, sell, service or calibrate any device we write about. We give no warranty of any kind for third party products, including their accuracy, fitness for a particular purpose, safety or approval status. Warranties, returns, calibration and repairs are the responsibility of the maker or the seller.

Nothing on the site means that a device is approved for evidential use, for DOT testing or for any court or employment purpose unless the maker's documentation or the relevant official list says so.

As an Amazon Associate we earn from qualifying purchases. Some links on the site, including every "Check price on Amazon" button, are affiliate links. If you buy through them, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. Affiliate links pass through a short redirect on our own domain before reaching Amazon.

Purchases on Amazon are contracts between you and Amazon or the seller. Prices, availability, shipping and returns are set by them, and we do not show prices on the site because they change often. More detail is on our affiliate disclosure page.

You can sign up with your email address to receive the buyer's checklist, calibration reminders and occasional guide updates. Signup is free and requires confirmation with a 6-digit code sent to your address. By confirming, you agree to receive these emails.

• You must use an email address that belongs to you and be at least 18 years old to sign up.
• Every email includes a one-click unsubscribe link, and you can also unsubscribe by writing to support@breathalyzer.io.
• Reminders are general prompts based on the sensor type you chose. They do not replace the maker's calibration schedule or instructions.
• We may change the content or frequency of the emails or stop the list. If we stop it, we stop sending, and nothing else is required from you.

You agree not to:

• Use the site in a way that breaks any law or harms other people.
• Use our content, tools or emails to try to defeat a breath test, an ignition interlock device or any workplace or legal alcohol testing program.
• Sign up other people without their permission, submit fake or automated signups, or abuse the confirmation code process.
• Abuse our redirect links, for example by generating artificial clicks.
• Scrape, copy or republish substantial parts of the site, or use automated tools that place an unreasonable load on our servers.
• Try to access parts of the site or our systems that are not meant to be public, or interfere with their security.

We may block access or remove a signup that breaks these rules.

The text, comparisons, tables, graphics and code of the site belong to us or to their respective owners and are protected by copyright and other laws. You may read, print and share links to our pages for personal, non-commercial use. You may quote short passages with a link to the source page. Any other use needs our written permission.

Product names, brand names and trademarks belong to their owners. Their use on the site identifies products and does not mean endorsement by or affiliation with those owners.

We provide the site as it is and as available. We may change, suspend or remove any page, tool or feature at any time, and we do not promise that the site will be uninterrupted or free of errors.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, about the site, its content and its tools, including warranties of accuracy, completeness, merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits or opportunity, arising from your use of the site, its tools, any BAC estimate, any device reading or any product bought through a link on the site.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim related to the site is limited to one hundred US dollars. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so some of these limits may not apply to you. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

You agree to hold us harmless from claims arising from your breach of these terms or your misuse of the site.

The site links to Amazon, manufacturers and official sources. We do not control those websites and are not responsible for their content, policies or practices. Their own terms apply when you visit them.

These terms are governed by the laws of the United States and of the state whose law applies under general conflict of law rules, without regard to provisions that would require the law of another place. Mandatory consumer protection rules of the place where you live continue to apply to you.

Before starting any formal dispute, please write to support@breathalyzer.io so we can try to resolve the matter informally.

We may update these terms from time to time. The date at the top shows the latest version. Continued use of the site after a change means you accept the updated terms. If a change materially affects the email list, we will tell subscribers by email.

If any part of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest remains in effect. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of it. These terms, together with our privacy policy and affiliate disclosure, are the whole agreement between you and us about the site.
